We went to fresh grocer all with a different task, some had to look at fruits and other miscellaneous things. I had to look up the vegetables, and see where they get them from. The food comes from a variety of places such as, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Mexico, Brazil, Morocco, Columbia, Chile, and Canada. Our main goal is to map where Philadelphia gets their local food from all across the world. At fresh grocer you can find anything from fresh foods, to open buffets. They have a wide variety of items.
The farmers market, was filled with a large variety of foods I didn't think they could make. They had apple pies, muffins, cablers, and different type of jams. They come all the way from Lancaster, Pa. All the items are at a reasonable price, and the food is usually pleasing. They dress very different than we do, but they still found a way to wear sneakers, which I find funny. The farmers markets supplies this neighborhood with local food, which is better throughout the city. They come every thursday. Some people may actually look forward to them coming. The next time I go I plan on buying something. The food looked too good.
