John street

John Street came to our work place, and relayed a speech to us. We played various games, which all had lessons behind them. He gave out money also. A lot of money at that. He made us put our name in the hat and if our name was picked we got money. The moral of the story was you don't always get a fair chance. That was the point of the game. You had to be lucky in order for your name to get called, but that's not fair to everyone else. He was telling us this because, life isn't fair, so when the time comes just take it on the chin, and live with it.

He also motivated us by not falling for distractions. We played one game where ten people had to stand up front and they couldnt laugh, while everyone else was trying to make them. One guy won and he got twenty dollars from mayor street. All in all it was just coming to show how our generation gets distracted enough and isn't focused. Anyone up there could have won if they focused enough. His goal was to tell us to stay on the right track because, black men have a graduation rate of below 50%.
