A week under my belt, and im goin green!

My first week as a BITS intern, was very compelling. I didn't think it would be this fun. The mentors were very friendly, and we actually have a lot in common. The days go by fast, and the project isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I didn't want to do greenworks at first. I was least interested in it, but i'm glad im doing it now because, there is going to be many things in life that I wont like, so why not start here.

We learned about how Philadelphia is working on being the "greenest" city in the country. I must say their actions were pretty convincing. I often find myself unplugging things went im not using them, and actually throw things in the thrash. We also learned what sustainability is. Sustainability is living and working in ways that do not jeopardise our current and future social, environmental and economic resources.

Our objective for the summer is to show Temple's food environment. Where do they get their food from and how do they get it. We aren't only focusing on Temple its self, but this area of North Philly. We will go to markets and find out where and who they get their food from. We will also be making a map based on all the food venues around this area.
